Another Installment of the week in review

Published by jennlee3741 at 12:17 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Welcome to the second edition of the week in review. Here are the things that weren’t enough to make the blog…but still noteworthy.

1)      There was a situation where I was asked to talk to a particular person about a not so pleasant situation. The person asking me to do this talking to knew that I would be direct and honest with this individual. Of course said individual’s feelings were hurt and suddenly I’m the bad guy.  I’m sorry I hurt his feelings (in part because I was given bad information), but I’m not sorry I asked hard questions. I get wanting to be a private person and dealing with your own issues on your own time, but this is now out of control and it is effecting other people. I don’t understand how this whole situation happened, and until then I’m not sure what to think or how to be supportive. The issue is complicated, and as of now I do not know the all the facts. I do know that if this individual expecting us to help him, he is going to have to be honest about the situation.

2)      In regards to politics I wish people would: Stop listening to comedians and celebrities for their political information. Jokes and satire are great, but holy geez it isn’t supposed to be relayed as fact. Learn to think for yourself. If you are going to believe everything the media feeds you, please actually pay attention to the whole story. There is nothing more annoying than someone who quotes one commentator like it is gospel, but totally ignores another commentator (who BTW was affiliated with the SAME party as the first commentator) who was speaking positively about the subject.

3)      I don’t treat you like an idiot for thinking a particular candidate can walk on water, please don’t belittle me for not agreeing. Do not make condescending comments that just assume I agree with you.  I’m not sold on either candidate for President. To be totally honest, I’m not a huge fan of either of them. Both sides have points I can totally get on board with, but they also have ideas and policies that I just can’t  get behind.  Actually, I was not a fan of ANY of the potential candidates this time around. I had hoped I would actually know who I was voting before I completed my ballot this time, but right now that isn’t  looking likely. I need to look into some more facts (yes I said FACTS, not just the crap media, celebrities and the internet is throwing at me) before I make a choice. Although, right now I’m to the point where voting for my not so bright cockatiel sounds like a better option.

4)      If your boss tells you to do something, but  you don’t like it…and it isn’t unethical or causing you harm, AND he or she has explained WHY this must be done, don’t keep badgering your boss. Stop coming up lame excuses and basically calling telling him or her that his/her idea is stupid…this does not bode well.

5)      Just an FYI to put us at 5. My office is like a freakin meat locker….seriously frigid…

Oh and this week also marks the start of October…the best month ever….YAY!  Halloween decorations are already hitting the office and I need to buckle down and find myself a costume.  I so cannot wait! We’ve even filled out our forms for Tricky Treaters…the Halloween version of Secret Santa
